Sarawak KPDN seizes 255 packets of imitation chocolate malt drinks
KUCHING - The Sarawak branch of the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) seized 255 packets of chocolate malt drinks suspected to be imitation product at three business premises here today.
Its director, Matthew Dominic Barin said the seizures were made following a series of raids by the ministry’s enforcement team around the city.
"We have seized the drinks and some documents valued at RM9,814.95,” he said in a statement.
He also said the case is being investigated under Section 102(1)(c) of the Trademarks Act 2019, which is to have in possession for the purpose of trading, goods that a registered trademark is incorrectly worn.
"If convicted, a person can be fined up to RM10,000 for each item or imprisoned for up to three years or both,” he said. - BERNAMA
