PUTRAJAYA - 'Datuk Roy's remand order has been extended for the investigation into a corruption case involving the Jana Wibawa programme.

Magistrate Irza Zulaikha Rohanuddin from the Putrajaya Magistrate's Court issued a remand order for four days starting today (Friday) after receiving an application from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to extend the remand order.

Kuala Lumpur MACC director Razaliah Ab Rahman confirmed the extension of the remand when contacted.

"The case is investigated under Section 16(a)(A) of the MACC Act 2009," he said.

Sinar Harian previously reported that Datuk Roy was remanded for three days by the Kuala Lumpur Court last Monday before he was re-arrested at the MACC office at 3.45pm on Wednesday.

The Kuala Lumpur Magistrate Court had ordered Datuk Roy to be remanded to facilitate in the Jana Wibawa case that is investigated under Section 17(a) of the MACC Act 2009.

Previously, MACC was tracking down ‘Datuk Roy’ to assist in the investigation into a corruption case involving a RM400,000 bribe.

Four individuals, including a MACC officer were arrested but later released on bail for allegedly soliciting and accepting bribes amounting to RM400,000 to avoid investigations into controversial programme.
