SHAH ALAM - Parti Rakyat Malaysia (PRM) regrets any negative reaction by the US towards China's efforts to bring peace in Ukraine.

Its deputy president Mohamed Ezam Mohd Nor shared the party's outlook on the arrogant Western super power which was noted as consistently criticising and creating a negative perception of China's efforts via global media as their proxy.

PRM said the peace plan initiative undertaken by China should be welcomed.

The 12-point Peace Plan outlines basic universal principles such as national sovereignty and rule of law, humanitarian issues and operations, which includes the issue of nuclear weapons security and freedom from the cold war mentality.

As a super power, PRM believes that China has the right and should play the main role in maintaining world peace.

Ezam argued that peace efforts are not the monopoly of the US and its allies. He even pointed out that historical records clearly proved the opposite as the US almost monopolises war in the modern world.

The deputy president questioned, "How many wars is basically the America doing, and how many thousands or millions of lives have been lost in those wars?"," he said.

He insisted that America and its allies should be aware that the world is changing and they are no longer the only major power in the world.

De to that, other countries especially the Asian including Malaysia should be more courageous in supporting China's efforts. He popped another matter for reflection, "If they can support American-sponsored peace efforts, why don't they support the peace efforts initiated by China and other major powers?

"We should not be too afraid and dependant upon America and its allies. In today's world (and in the future), the main economic interests are not necesarily in America alone," he suggested.

As China and other parts of the world are gaining the momentum in their economic endeavour, Ezam urged every party to be bold and make unconventional and strategic decisions. He said, "A country based on civil principles (madani) must has the courage to uphold the principle of justice without fear of any particular super power."
