SHAH ALAM - Legal action will be taken against any individuals or parties who deliberately misuse the name of the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) to mislead the public.

In a statement today, the PMO highlighted that such actions are extremely irresponsible and bring a negative impact on the credibility of PMO and Government Institutions.

The statement was believed to come after revelation by Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong that he received a call from an individual who identified himself as "Deepak" who claimed to represent J&E Advance Tech Sdn Bhd over an issue concerning imported eggs from India.

Dr Wee said he was told by Deepak to issue a clarification following alleged discussions with PMO.

Recently, Perikatan Nasional (PN) information chief Datuk Seri Azmin Ali had also claimed that the government awarded the project to import eggs from India to controversial businessman Deepak Jaikishan.

J&E subsequently refuted claims by Azmin, saying that it was a blatant lie by the the former International Trade and Industry Minister.

On Feb 28, Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu stated that only one company was given the permission to import eggs from India and that was J&E Advance Tech Sdn Bhd.
