ANKARA - English Premier League club Chelsea will host a first-ever fast-breaking or iftar meal at their home stadium Stamford Bridge on March 26, a few days after the Muslim holy month of Ramadan starts.

Ramadan will begin on March 23 and will continue through April 21-- the first day of the Aidilfitri holiday.

"A number of local mosques and members of Chelsea’s Muslim community such as supporters and school students will be invited to attend, along with Chelsea FC staff," Anadolu Agency quoted the London club as saying in a statement Monday.

Chelsea Foundation head Simon Taylor said they are "delighted" to organise an open iftar, and cannot wait to welcome everyone.

The Premier League club added that the event "will be run in collaboration with the Ramadan Tent Project," an award-winning charity founded in 2013. It has a goal to bring communities together and develop an understanding of Ramadan.
