SHAH ALAM - Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Mohd Puad Zarkashi has questioned the delay in justice for former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, as it is 21 days since the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) submitted an investigation report on court of appeals judge Datuk Mohd Nazlan Ghazali to Chief Justice Tun Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat.

He said Law Minister Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said had stated this matter in the Dewan Rakyat on Feb 23, but with no action since then, the delay reflected on a lack of transparency in Najib's case involving the alleged embezzlement of SRC International funds.

"Is justice for Najib being delayed? Is it fair that no action is taken before the judicial review decision in Najib's SRC case is decided?

"The people want to know whether the Nazlan's investigation would truly prove there was a conflict of interest or ethical violation which enabled judge Nazlan to be prosecuted," he said through a post on Facebook on Monday.

He urged for the outcome of investigations to be revealed to the public to bring justice for Najib.

"Congratulations Azalina for telling the Parliament the report has been sent to the Chief Justice and Attorney-General.

"Former chief justice Tun Abd Hamid Mohamad's writing 'The Federal Court Makes its Own Laws' is an important argument that there is no reason why the MACC could not investigate a judge (I will comment further tomorrow).

"However, today we urge them not to delay justice for Najib," he said.

On Feb 23, the media reported MACC's report towards Nazlan regarding the breach of the Judges Etiquette Code 2009 has been given to Tengku Maimun.

Azalina said the MACC announced it through a letter dated Feb 21.

She said the letter had no further information regarding the matter.
