JERANTUT - Department of Wildlife and National Parks (Perhilitan) says Orang Asli are manipulated by outsiders to carry out illegal poaching activities in the country.

Perhilitan director general Datuk Abdul Kadir Abu Hashim said Orang Asli are allowed to hunt for personal use and survival but are not allowed to sell commercially.

"Most of them that were arrested knew that it was wrong to do so but allowwd themselves to be influenced," he said in a press conference at Taman Negara, Kuala Tahan here today.

Due to that, he said a programme was held by his officers on the do's and don't's of hunting.
