KOTA BHARU - Kelantan Pakatan Harapan (PH) has set up a legal clinic to address the high divorce rates in the state, with up to 30 to 40 cases a day.

Norizan Ab Rahman said the initiative was made to assist women suffering due to complications in legal fees and domestic grievances.

She was speaking to the media after the launch of the Kelantan PH Wanita Legal Clinic, here.

The ceremony was officiated by Kelantan PH chairman Muhammad Husain.

Norizan said their lack of ability to look for advice causes them to feel oppressed. They are also abandoned by their husbands or lack the money to hire a lawyer.

She said the government’s legal department was limited and could not take all cases.

“We are taking the initiative to aid women and currently the allocation is available through Women Family and Community Development Ministry.

“Women affected can register through the QR code and we will contact them as well as arrange a meeting. As it is subsidised, the charges will be kept at minimum,” she said.
