IPOH - A senior immigration officer has injured a lower ranking officer from the same department by stepping on him at a temporary immigration depot, Bidor on Thursday.

Perak police chief Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said a report was lodged on March 10 at the Tapah district police headquarters at 2am.

He said police investigations found the victim was undergoing the last day of Officer’s Fitness Test to be a member of special tactical team (Pastak) at 9.30am on Thursday.

“The victim with two other trainers were ordered by the suspect to do 20 push ups. The suspect had stepped on the victim’s neck causing him to slip while performing the task.

“Due to that, the victim suffered injuries on his nose, a broken tooth, gum wounds and cuts on his lips,” he said in a statement on Sunday.

The 25-year-old victim received treatment at the Shah Alam Hospital emergency department while the suspect and witnesses have been called in to aid investigations, said Yusri.

He said the case is investigated under Section 325 of the Penal Code that could bring a seven-year prison sentence and a fine if found guilty.
