KUALA LUMPUR - Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin said there was no reason for the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to summon him for investigation purposes.

He also called on everyone to stop making any speculations on the matter.

"Why would MACC call me? This question should not arise.

"Stop speculating. We are currently facing a huge test and challenge," he said.

Hamzah was met at the press conference in conjunction with the Srikandi Bersatu Annual General Assembly 2022 at Menara PGRM here today.

Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's prosecution had given all members and delegates the strength to move forward.

"We are more enthusiastic to not only show solidarity but to also talk about tyranny in our country.

"So even if anyone else is charged in court, we will continue to fight for the truth," he said.

Prior to this, Pas deputy president Datuk Seri Ibrahim Tuan Man claimed that the accusations made against Muhyiddin were "selective political prosecution" made to protect a major issue involving the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition.

Muhyiddin, who is also Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman, pleaded not guilty at the Sessions Court here on Friday to the six charges of abuse of power for bribery amounting to RM232.5 million and money laundering amounting to RM195 million, between 2020 and 2022.

The former prime minister was the third Bersatu leader charged in court on criminal charges after former Bersatu information chief Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan and Segambut Bersatu deputy chief Adam Radlan Adam Muhammad.
