PUTRAJAYA - Former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin might finish giving his statement to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), tonight.

Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) supreme council member Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah said the party's president would not be detained by the anti-graft agency.

"It is expected that it (recording of Muhyiddin's statement) will take a long time and by a long time I mean until tonight.

"So we (Bersatu leaders) will head to Taman Melewar, Gombak for the solat hajat (prayer of need) and as soon as Muhyiddin has completed giving his statement to the MACC, he will also be heading there.

"That is the latest update that I can share," he said when met outside the MACC headquarters, here, today.

Meanwhile, Bersatu information chief Datuk Razali Idris said the party's leaders will be performing the prayer during the "Solat Hajat Keselamatan Negara dan Solidariti Menentang Kezaliman" ceremony, tonight.

Earlier, Muhyiddin was summoned by the commission to have his statement recorded over the Jana Wibawa scandal and the stimulus package funds spent during the period in relation to the Covid-19 management.

He arrived at the MACC headquarters at about 11.20am.
