Najib continues his master's degree in prison

SHAH ALAM - Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has reportedly been filling his time in Kajang Prison by continuing his master's degree.

Sin Chew Daily had also reported that Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said Najib's pursuit of knowledge was nothing out of the ordinary.

He said there are inmates who continued their studies until their philosophy doctorate (PhD) while undergoing their sentence.

"Najib is now fulfilling his time by continuing his master's degree.

"Many are not aware that in Kajang Prison there are inmates who have successfully completed their master's and PhD studies as well ," he said in the report

Saifuddin added that Najib did not have access to social media throughout his stay in prison.

"He is physically placed in Kajang prison, but he does have his own media team.

"I was informed they have his username and password so they can upload his views on social media," he said

The former Pekan MP is currently serving his 12-year jail sentence as he was found guilty of embezzling SRC International Sdn Bhd funds.
