A whopping RM318 million sales spree by Malaysian companies in Gulfood 2023
SHAH ALAM - It was a successful outing for 11 Malaysian companies at the Middle East's largest food and beverage exhibition, Gulfood 2023 held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on Feb 20-24 as they recorded potential sales of a whopping RM318,515,295 (USD72,525,000) under the Business Export Program (BEP).
This was due to the successful implementation of the BEP by the SME Bank, which was an agency under the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry (KUSKOP).
KUSKOP added that potential sales exceeded the set target of RM10 million, and the company had received supply orders from various countries after four days since the end of organising Gulfood 2023.
"During the Gulfood 2023 mission, Akifcafe Coffee Industries Sdn Bhd signed a RM2.5 million Memorandum of Understanding to supply premixed coffee for Grand Hypermarket Dubai.
"The first participation of entrepreneurs under the guidance of KUSKOP at Gulfood 2023 clearly proves that Gulfood is one of the great platforms for highlighting a range of quality, innovative, and competitive halal F&B products by Malaysian entrepreneurs for buyers in Dubai and the countries of the Middle East region and North Africa", it said in a statement.
