Blue brings back memories with their greatest hits at KL concert
ZAFIRA ANWARKUALA LUMPUR: British boyband Blue brought the house down during their "20th Anniversary: Heart & Soul Tour" at the Plenary hall, Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre last Friday.
The quartet opened their concert by singing their hit song "Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word" in front of some 2,900 Blue fans who had waited since 2019 to watch the band perform live again in Malaysia.
The room immediately came alive when the first band member, Duncan James, went on the stage to sing. Simon Webbe, Lee Ryan and Anthony Costa then entered the spotlight to serenade concertgoers with their melodious voice.
The concert immediately turned into a singalong as fans joined Blue to sing their popular songs like “U Make Me Wanna”,“Bubblin”,“Fly By” and their debut single, “All Rise” to name a few.
The audience was seen on their feet dancing to the music they grew up listening to.
During the show, James thanked the audience and said their fans in Malaysia were "better than Singapore." "I’m just saying it as it is. I want you to raise the roof so everybody in Singapore can hear just how loud the KL audiences are," said James, asking the fans to scream their lungs out.
"That’s what I’m talking about." Singing a total of 17 songs, Blue also sang songs from their latest album, "Heart & Soul" during the 75-minute show.
The CEO & Founder of Hitman Solutions Rohit Rampal said it was heart-warming to receive such a positive response from Blue fans.
"Just as we (Hitman Solutions & Happymoon) anticipated, tickets were sold-out and most ticket-buyers were in their late 20s till mid 40s.” Happymoon Managing Director Kesavan Purusotman said he was humbled that Blue accepted his invitation to hold a concert here as the band had come to Malaysia several times.
“Fans are still excited every time the band makes their appearance, especially when they heard Blue has just released their latest studio album.”
Blue, in a statement said,"Malaysian fans were one of the best crowds we have ever had."
"The energy that they exude, and how they sang every word to each and every song is mindblowing."
