SHAH ALAM - Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob does not consider his request for party president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to show the Registrar of Societies'(RoS) letter as evidence, as a disciplinary offence.

Zahid had announced on Saturday that the additional motion to not contest the top two posts in the Umno General Assembly (PAU) had been cleared by RoS in a letter.

Ismail said that his request for the letter to be published or to be shown to members as proof was due to the confusion and polemics about the matter among members of the party.

The Bera MP was still of the opinion that many grass roots members could not accept the result of the two highest positions in the party were not being contested in the party polls.

“Disciplinary action for what wrongdoing? There are two statements that members saw which made them confused. So to avoid confusion, please show the letter. Is this suggestion wrong?

"If RoS upholds PAU's decision in 2022 then the real situation will be clear," he said in a brief statement through Whatsapp to Sinar Premium on Sunday.

In the meantime, Ismail Sabri also commented on the existence of two differing media reports regarding the status of RoS's latest decision on the approval of the PAU 2022 additional motion, which also needs to be answered clearly by Ahmad Zahid.

"I think it will be good if he (Ahmad Zahid) shows the relevant RoS letter because there are two different media reports. One mentioned that RoS rejected it, but it's not even one day after that there are reports saying it was passed. Everyone is confused. I also only read media reports too," he explained.
