Police tracking down Toyota Alphard driver who drove on motorcycle lane

PETALING JAYA - Police are tracking down the driver of a Toyota Alphard who drove on the motorcycle lane along the Federal Highway.

The incident was caught on video which went viral on social media, yesterday.

Petaling Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said the district police headquarters (IPD) Traffic Investigation and Enforcement division were alerted about the 25-second video on WhatsApp in the 10.30pm incident.

“The video showed the driver driving on the motorcycle lane along the Federal Highway heading towards Kuala Lumpur near Amcorp Mall,” he said in a statement, today.

He said a police report was received and investigation papers have been opened over the case.

“The case is being investigated under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987, the owner or driver of the vehicle is asked to appear to assist in the investigation.

“Witnesses of the incident could go to the nearest police station or contact traffic investigating officer Inspector Mohd Hafeez Faesal A Aziz at 011-32311232 to assist in the investigation,” he said.
