SHAH ALAM - Muar member of parliament (MP) Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman today expressed grief over the passing of his pet cat.

In a heartbreaking post on Twitter, he shared the death of Toby, his ginger-furred cat.

"Toby, my beloved cat, has left us.

"So sudden. So Sad. I miss him so much," he said.

He also thanked his cat for being with him through his toughest times.

"May you find peace in "cat heaven," he said.

In the past, the Muda president has frequently posted photos of his cats and has not been shy about publicly expressing his affection for them.

His cats, Toby and Meow Meow, were even included in the list of his declared assets.

He declared his assets in a live press conference posted to his Facebook page on Nov 10, 2022, prior to the 15th General Election (GE15).

He explained that during his time serving in the previous Pakatan Harapan (PH) cabinet, ministers were told to declare any valuables worth more than RM500.

"Since my cats are a gift from my brother and my friend from 2018 and 2019, I am going to declare them as my valuables because they are invaluable to me," he told reporters.
