Dewan Rakyat session extended by two days

KUALA LUMPUR – The First Meeting of the Second Session of the 15th Parliament has been adjourned for an additional two days, until April 4.

This would bring the total duration of the sitting to 31 days.

Dewan Rakyat Speaker Datuk Johari Abdul said the decision was made by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was in line with Standing Order 11(2) of the Dewan Rakyat.

"Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, as the leader of the house, has added two more days to the current parliament session.

"This will enable several bills and government affairs to be tabled and decided in Dewan Rakyat.

"A written notice will be issued to all members of parliament," he said in Dewan Rakyat, here, on Tuesday.

The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, officiated the commencement of the Dewan Rakyat on Feb 13.

It was followed by a royal decree, and the prime minister presented the Budget 2023 last Friday.
