Circumcisers from all over Southeast Asia gather at MICC 2022
PUTRAJAYA - The Malaysian International Circumcision 2022 (MICC 2022) has brought together circumcisers from all over Southeast Asia to discuss the latest guidelines and innovations in circumcision.
The conference organised by Mymedikal Healthcare Sdn Bhd, featured seven prominent speakers from Malaysia, Myanmar, and Indonesia, as well as other delegates from local and international organisations.
Mymedikal Healthcare director Associate Professor Dr Mohamad Salleh Abdul Aziz said the two-day conference held from Feb 25 was to raise awareness on issues pertaining to circumcision
He said in Malaysia, people often heard of medical conferences about cancer and thyroid among others, but they were unaware about issues associated with circumcision.
“Circumcision is something that many people are not aware of. MICC 2022 provides the best platform for medical professionals to share their knowledge on circumcision.
"The conference was a successful event in which many experts from all around Southeast Asia shared the latest guidelines and recent innovations in circumcision.
"MICC was also held last year, but it has improved this year. There are many participants too.
"Until the last day, participants were still focused listening to all the keynotes from the speakers. All of the delegates gave their undivided attention. I am so happy, and I truly appreciate it," Salleh added.
Mymedikal Healthcare also invited various stakeholders from the Health Ministry and private sector to join the conference.
"Now, we can see that we are expanding our networking. I hope that this will be a good starting point for further discussions about circumcision awareness and issues in the Malaysian society,” he said.
For next year’s conference, he said he has already gathered information of several speakers from various countries to invite them in the future event.
He said MyMedikal Healthcare will also organise the Seminar Sukarelawan Kesihatan Malaysia in July.
For the programme, he said medical volunteers from all over Malaysia would be invited to participate and gather to share their experiences in public health services, particularly on circumcision, he added.
