KUALA LUMPUR - The Dewan Rakyat descended into chaos as Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin after describing the 2023 Budget "empty" at Dewan Rakyat, today.

Hearing this, Sim Tze Tzin (PH-Bayan Baru) said: "I have high expectations for Larut but what I heard from the 17 to 18 minutes of Larut's speech, there is no content, just loud chatter."

"I hope the opposition can raise a shadow budget... but so far the opposition has not done any work... if you want to be a constructive opposition, present a shadow budget... now there is none.

"I feel disappointed because the opposition is not constructive at all," he said.

However, the interjection was criticised by Hamzah, stating that was just part of the introduction.

"That's just the introduction... even that has caused anger. What is this? What kind of unity government is this?

"I was about to talk about the new economic market, but you are so impatient... why is he so worried? He doesn't even know what I want to say.

"What I want to convey is that we are here as a group to do check and balance of what the government has to say.

"So if YB Tambun (Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim) can recite various verses of the Quran using all his philosophies, what's wrong with the opposition through me starting with an introduction like this? Why are you such a busybody?" he asked.
