KOTA KINABALU - Petagas assemblyman Datuk Awang Ahmad Sah Awang Sahari is the latest to quit Parti Warisan (Warisan).

He announced the decision in a press conference today, adding that he would be joining Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat).

Awang, who was also Warisan's treasurer, said the decision was made after discussions with the party's leadership.

"Apart from me, all the divisions except for three or four divisions have also announced leaving Warisan to join Gagasan Rakyat under the leadership of Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor," he added.

Last month, three Warisan assemblymen left the party. They remain independent but showed support to the current Sabah government led by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

They are Kunak assemblywoman Norazlinah Arif, Mohammad Mohamarin (Banggi), and Chong Chen Bin (Tanjong Kapor), who announced they are leaving the party on Monday.
