Three LCS issues were addressed before term ended, says Hishammuddin
NURUL HUDA HUSAIN DIANA AZISKUALA LUMPUR - Former Defense Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein has revealed that there were three issues related to the littoral combat ship (LCS) project that were resolved before he ended his term at the ministry.
He explained that the three matters were to ensure that the LCS project continues, that the people involved in the LCS scandal are brought to justice, and that the ship's mobilisation plan is revived.
"First, I made sure that the LCS continued in accordance with the decision of the Cabinet at that time.
"Secondly, the wrong party remains wrong and must be brought to justice, and the third is the mobilisation plan to revive the LCS," he said when debating the Royal Decree Motion at the Dewan Rakyat here on Monday.
Hishammuddin, who is also a Sembrong MP, also asked the unity government to explain the latest status of LCS procurement.
He said that not only he wants to know, but the people also expect the same.
"What is the timeline for completing the construction of the first LCS ship? Will this two-year period still remain or vice versa?" he questioned.
