A 4.7 Richter scale aftershock rocks Turkey

REYHANLI, TURKIYE - A Sinar Harian reporter and crews of non-governmental organisation Syria Care faced an anxious moment, here, after the country was rocked by aftershocks around 11pm (local time) on Thursday.

Based on information from Earthquake Safety, the earthquake recorded a magnitude of 4.7 on Richter scale.

Head of Sinar Harian Premium Content Unit Nurul Riduan Nor Ashaha said he was working on a news report related to the earthquake when it happened.

"The building in Reyhanli shook within five to 10 seconds while I was writing a news report.

"Then our van driver, a local Turkey resident immediately told us to leave the building," he said.

Nurul Riduan said other residents were also seen leaving the building as he was exiting.

A resident who did not want to be identified said this was the strongest aftershock he ever felt.

"It was just a small tremors before, but this time it was more intense that I told all my family members to leave the house.

Meanwhile a Syria Care representative stationed in Syria informed that two houses had collapsed near the Turkey border.
