Khairy officially appointed into JDT board and Johor youth adviser
SHAH ALAM - Johor Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim has appointed Khairy Jamaluddin as the state's youth adviser and also into the Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) Football Club's board of directors.
Tunku Ismail announced on his Facebook that Khairy had also agreed to the appointments after meeting him.
"His experience in various fields in the country will be valuable to the youth development and football progress in Johor," he said.
On Jan 28, Tunku Ismail hinted on the offer of both posts to Khairy after the latter was sacked by Umno.
In his Facebook post, Tunku Ismail posted a photo of him and Khairy with the caption "Future JDT FC CEO and Johor Youth Advisor".
"Experienced, proven, why not," Tunku Ismail wrote in the post.
Earlier, the former Rembau MP expressed gratitude to Tunku Ismail over the appointments.
"I will contribute my experience to make JDT FC an outstanding football club.
"I will also help Tunku Ismail in empowering the Johor youths through education, training, entrepreneurship and welfare (among others),” he said in a Facebook post.
Khairy was no stranger to football as he had previously served as the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) deputy president in 2007.
