Wild party in Genting cut short by cops
SHAH ALAM - An evening festivities for a group of partygoers was cut short when police raided a bungalow in Genting Highlands, Bentong, Pahang on Monday.
Pahang Police Chief Datuk Seri Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf said a total of 19 men and nine women between the ages of 26 and 48 were arrested at about 4pm.
He said preliminary examination results showed the suspects’ urine test positive for ketamine and amphetamine type of drugs.
He said all suspects have been remanded in police custody for one to two days starting Tuesday to Wednesday for further investigation.
He said the case being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drug Act 1952, and if found guilty, they can be punished with a maximum prison sentence of two years or a fine of RM 5,000.00 or both.
“Success of this raid was thanks to a tip-off by a the public. Thank you to the community members who are always sensitive to criminals or drugs,” he said.
