Anwar may fly to Turkey tonight
RAIHAM MOHD SANUSI FARAH SHAZWANI ALIKUALA LUMPUR - Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim may fly to Turkey tonight as a show of support for the country after it was hit by earthquake.
Anwar said he might have a meeting with the Turkey president Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
"I was asked by the Turkey president to be there as a show of moral support. I am considering whether I should leave tonight.
"Several countries have arrived and President Erdogan has asked me personally to be there," he said at the Minister's Question Time (MQT) at the Dewan Rakyat on Tuesday.
Anwar added he had also received several calls from Erdogan who had asked him to visit Turkey.
The 7.8 Richter scale earthquake had hit several areas in south Turkey and Syria on Feb 6.
So far 35,000 have been reported dead while millions requiring aid.
