DBKL shuts down four prostitution dens at Petaling street

The raid was conducted by DBKL's Special Operation of Risky Premises (Prostitution Activities) Series 1/2023 during the weekend.
"Eleven 11 local men and foreigners, who were assumed to be customers were present at the premises during the raid," DBKL said in a statement on its Facebook page.
The 36 foreign women detained were from Indonesia (26), Bangladesh (5), India (2), Sri Lanka (1), China (1) suspected to be working as sex workers.
The four premises were sealed immediately under Section 101(1)(v) of the Local Government Act 1976. four compound notices under section 3(1) of Licensing of Trades, Businesses and Industries (WPKL) By-Law 2016 for carrying out businesses without licences.
"DBKL had also destroyed 54 room partitions that were built without approval and confiscated 155 various items and essentials needed for the immoral activities including condoms, lubricating gel, wet tissues, monitors, CCTV and so on," he said.
The items were sent to DBKL's confiscated storage at Jalan Lombong, Taman Miharja Kuala Lumpur for documentation and temporary storage.
