SHAH ALAM - Let DAP deal with Penang Deputy Chief Minister II P Ramasamy, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said.

The Umno president said the Penang DAP deputy chairman was always a loose cannon and the Penang DAP deputy chairman was always a loose cannon.

"The statements he makes should always be taken with a grain of salt, he was always a loose cannon, just leave it to the party to handle the issue," he was reported as saying by a local news outlet on Sunday.

Ramasamy was reported as urging Anwar to reform the civil service, saying the sector is currently dominated by the Malays due to what he said were policies implemented by former leader Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

He said the old argument in favour of the Malays to balance the economic dominance of the Chinese is no longer applicable.

Ramasamy claimed Mahathir used this to institutionalise Malay hegemony in the public sector especially public services.

He claimed there was a discrimination of race in secret when it involved the promotion of non-Malays in the public service sector.
