Muda need not fuss, meeting was for coalition pact signatories

SHAH ALAM - The Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) need not fuss over not being invited for the Unity Government's first secretariat meeting on Tuesday, as it only involved parties with three or more members of parliament which had signed the coalition pact.

Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy president Rafizi Ramli said as such, Pakatan Harapan (PH), Barisan Nasional (BN), Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and Warisan were represented in the meeting as they had signed the coalition pact.

"The meeting was solely for the signatories of the coalition pact, and while Muda is part of the Unity Government, only parties with three or more parliament members who signed the coalition pact attended the meeting," he said.

The Economy Minister said this when met after the launch of Malaysia Economic Monitor entitled 'Expanding Malaysia's Digital Frontier' published by the World Bank.

Sinar reported today that Muda secretary-general Amir Abd Hadi expressed his displeasure over the party not getting an invitation to attend the first meeting through a tweet.

Amir said he did not receive any invitations via letters, messages or emails.

Amir also hoped his party, which was now part of the government, would be briefed of the meeting's outcome.

The Unity Government's first secretariat meeting chaired by the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
