PUTRAJAYA - Umno has not received any appeal letters from Datuk Seri Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein and Datuk Maulizan Bujang who are now suspended for six years.

Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said, if there is an appeal, the letter will be refered to the Disciplinary Board to make a decision.

"So far I have yet not received it," he said during a press conference in conjunction with the monthly assembly of the Rural and Regional Development Ministry on Thursday.

However, he said the appeal letter if received will be referred to the Disciplinary Board to make a decision.

"I will leave it to the board, to look into it," he said

Zahid was commenting on a statement made by Umno Johor who wanted former Umno vice president Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussien and former Tebrau Umno chief Datuk Maulizan Bujang to submit an appeal and defend themselves against the charges imposed on them.

Johor Umno chairman Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said the decision was made during a Johor Umno liaison special meeting last Saturday.
