KUALA LUMPUR - The National Entreprenuer Development Council (NEDC) will look into establishing a mechanism to register and disburse financial support to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in view of the need for government intervention to counter escalating operational costs due to the hike in prices of raw goods.

The NEDC's first meeting of the year today, chaired by Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick, also deliberated on the development of state centres for the distribution of entrepreneural products.

Ewon stressed that under current new normal circumstances, it was important to ensure the sustainability of business operations and urged all parties to come together to support and encourage entrepreneurs and cooperatives to adapt technologies and digitalisation to ensure they remained relevant and competitive.
