SEREMBAN - The two main coalitions in Negeri Sembilan, namely Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) need to be open-minded when discussing seat allocations for the upcoming state elections.

Negeri Sembilan Amanah chairman Datuk MK Ibrahim Abd Rahman said all parties should wholeheartedly accept any decision made, despite having to reduce the number of State Legislative Assembly seats contested as compared to the previous general election (GE14)

"In GE14, Amanah had 10 seats and we had won three seats namely Paroi, Lenggeng and Kuala Klawang.

"If the party decided to cooperate with BN for the upcoming state elections. then we have to sacrifice as we should not compete with each other," he said to Sinar today.

However, he said up until now, there has not been any official discussions between the two coalitions in Negeri Sembilan.

He said the cooperation is almost certain as it is in line with the Unity Government today.

"As far as I am aware, there is no official discussions.

"But after the Unity Government was formed, Negeri Sembilan no longer has an opposition bloc in the state legislative assembly

"This is because from 36 seats, 20 of it belongs to PH and the remaining 16 seats belongs to BN," he said.

However, Anwar who is also the PH chairman said there are no restrictions for party leaders in the state level to hold talks and discuss with BN about the matter.

So far, Selangor and Terengganu are the only states that had announced that they have started negotiations.
