Without naming any ministry or government agency , Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said affairs that took long hours needed to be speeded up.
"The service needs to be improved if people have to queue for hours just to obtain a license," he said during a meeting with the Prime MInister's Department (JPM) members at Dewan De'Seri Endon Puspanitapuri today.
Anwar said he often puts himself in the people's shoes to understand the plight of the people.
"I always imagine if it was me standing there for hours in a line
"Or even in a study conducted by the the Economic Planning Unit (EPU) about the declining poverty rate and extreme poverty, what do I say if my family is in that category," Anwar questioned
He said by putting himself in the situation, he would be able to ease some of the difficulties faced by the people similar to the lessons contained in Surah Al-Balad in the Quran.
"In our work, especially in the government we must be sincere to help the people, we cannot fool people or take away their rights or property," he elaborated.
Anwar added that his advice to cabinet ministers, government agencies and departments after taking over the administration of the country were with good intentions.
"There are people who say I shouldn't keep talking about what had happened in the past but had happened we need to improve on in terms of our image and economy," he said.
