SHAH ALAM - Former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has a new favourite past time, doing all the things he was not able to do before.

No longer the chief of state today, Ismail, who is in his 60s finds joy in jogging around the neighbourhood, catching up with friends while enjoying teh tarik and having short staycations with his family and grandchild.

When asked why he was actively building more engagement with the people, he said it's the “freedom” he craved for a long time.

"Things I'm showing in my social media is the life I didn't get before.

"I served many positions in politics including Youth and Sports Minister back in 2008. Ever since then, I had limited time with myself and my family.

"Since I'm no longer prime minister, I have more freedom. I can do anything I want, spend ample time with myself, family and friends," he told Sinar Daily’s Politically Frank episode.
