'Freezing account, doesn't necessarily mean guilty,' Melaka Bersatu chief says
Dr Mohd Yadzil
In saying this, he said, therefore, it can't be assumed that the party is guilty and the move was only part of the investigation process and procedure.
Former finance minister and current International Trade and Industry (MITI) minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz said previously that there weren't any red flags on the alleged misappropriation of funds from several economic stimulus packages since 2020.
"However, we should not block anything yet because no one has been found guilty and the investigation is still ongoing.
"Maybe there were other elements in play, like revenge and others," he said when contacted today.
Mohd Yadzil also said that he has yet to check if the party's account has been frozen or not.
It was reported earlier that Bersatu's account was frozen, and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief Tan Sri Azam Baki has confirmed this.
