SHAH ALAM - Bersatu said it would fully cooperate with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on allegations of corruption raised against it.

In a statement earlier, the party's secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin said it will continue to cooperate in the probe so the malicious allegations made against Bersatu can be put to an end.

"Bersatu party leaders and officials who were asked to provide evidence to the MACC have also been instructed to cooperate fully."

Hamzah expressed regret over the actions by Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) government, which used government agencies as a tool to achieve their political goals and destroy the credibility of Bersatu and Perikatan Nasional (PN).

"We are sure that the people are aware of PH-BN's bad strategy that wants to divert the people's attention from the weakness, failure, and nepotism of their government," he added.

He also said that Bersatu is always strict about the principles of integrity and good governance.

"All members and leaders of all levels are asked to be patient and continue to stand firm in the face of this trial and slander," he said.

Hamzah's comments were following news reports that MACC had frozen Bersatu's bank account for investigations under the Money Laundering Act and the Malaysian Anti-Commission (MACC) Act 2009.
