The Managing Director of Zubedy (M) Sdn Bhd, Anas Zubedy, said Nurul Izzah has the potential to become the leader of the new Malaysia, which will have no room for cronyism or corruption.
"Nurul has the influence and potential to start a "unity movement" that can attract Malaysians, especially youths, regardless of race, religion, and their political affiliation.
"She should do things the right way," he opined.
Anas also urged the Prime Minister to appoint Dr Michael Jeyakumar as an advisor on poverty issues.
"If the Prime Minister wants an advisor on the poor and the difficulties they face because of this, I recommend Dr Michael Jeyakumar Devaraj, who has dealt with this issue for a long time.
"Dr Jeya is also well-versed on the problems among the rural population," he said.
Anas's comments were following Nurul Izzah's appointment as senior economic and finance advisor to the prime minister, effective Jan 3.
Earlier today, Anwar Ibrahim said he accepts the criticism over his daughter's appointment, stating that "she has to come to help ensure tenders and contracts are in order".
He assured his critics that she was not appointed to "take over projects."
Anwar also stressed that there would never be corruption or misuse of power under his administration.
