Tun Faisal latest to be sacked from Umno
Tun Faisal
Tun Faisal, through a text message, said that he had received the dismissal letter at 4.28pm via WhatsApp after being contacted by Umno headquarters.
He said there were several interesting content in the letter including how he was still referred as Umno deputy chief.
"This indicated the title would still remain even after being suspended, so Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein can still be called the Umno chief and not the former Umno chief as reported before by the media," he said today.
On March 2021, Umno suspended his membership for six years after he made an open statement against Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
He demanded that Zahid make a statutory declaration to deny allegations that he had backed Anwar Ibrahim’s bid to be the next prime minister.
Additionally, Tun Faisal also told Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan that he was 'forgetting' to include his name among the nine Putrajaya Umno members who were sacked.
"Including myself, there are roughly 10 Umno members that will be sacked," he added.
Tun Faisal added that if Umno's disciplinary board and MKT had functioned properly, then Zahid should be the first person to be sacked for allegedly betraying the party's policy, along with the 13 other Umno leaders who signed the statutory declaration (SD) supporting Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim as Prime Minister.
He commented further, saying that he decided not to appeal as he expected the decision since MKT and Zahid were not open to criticism.
News of Tun Faisal’s sacking comes days after former Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin and former Umno Selangor chief Noh Omar were given the boot.
