Sacking not in accordance with Umno's constitution: Noh Omar
Former Selangor Umno chief Tan Sri Noh Omar at Kompleks Media Karangkraf today.
"To whom else should I appeal?" he asked.
"The Umno supreme council has made a decision, I accept this decision even though I am sad," he said after the Sinar Live programme entitled 'Sacked by Umno: Fight or Move On? conducted by host Hazwan Mokhtar and broadcasted live on all Sinar Harian social media platforms.
The former Tanjung Karang MP also said he was upset about the procedures involved.
However, the former Tanjung Karang MP said he was upset because all of these procedures involved in his sacking and others as well were not in accordance with the Umno constitution.
"As a lawyer, I have principles, no matter what, we have to stick to the constitution," he added.
He said he was already prepared to answer all three charges brought against him by the Umno disciplinary board, which was scheduled for today (Tuesday), but he was suddenly sacked last week.
"Even more shocking is that, from only three charges, there are now 12 charges against me.
"If the party constitution can't be followed, then how does this party want to survive?" Noh Omar asked.
When asked about his next move after being sacked by Umno, he said that he wanted to rest and said that no offers had been received from other political parties to join.
Noh did not dismiss the fact that he would associate with a political party that fights for the people, especially Malay rights.
But he stated that he wants to see a political party that the rakyat can rely on and, of course, a party that fights for Malay rights.
"For now, I want to rest. I might become a freelance speaker for PKR or Amanah, if any party wants me to be a speaker, I will come," he added.
Noh Omar expressed his hope that all Umno leaders would take heed of what is happening in the party now.
"All great leaders, whether Anwar Ibrahim, Tun Mahathir, or Shafie Apdal, were from Umno.
"Imagine if Umno is not divided, it will definitely become a great political party and cannot compete with other parties."
Noh Omar was among eleven members sacked from the party for several offences, including contesting as independent candidates and helping opposition candidates in the polls.
