NURUL IZZAH
Reavealing this in an exclusive interview with The Star, she confirmed she started her service on Jan 3 and hopes to bring her experience from serving as an MP for two decades to the role.
“One of my goals is to channel and utilise Malaysia’s best and brightest talents, inside and outside the government, to add value to the ongoing efforts to improve the economic condition of the people,” she said in the interview.
Nurul Izzah added that the government leadership needs to listen to the voice of the people, which she describes as being in line with the Prime Minister’s instructions.
She also said that in her role, she gets input from people, especially those in the B40, and M40 groups.
“The instructions from the PM are clear: talk to the people and listen to their ideas, concerns and expectations. They are the most important stakeholders of all," Nurul Izzah said.
Nurul Izzah had previously served as the MP for Lembah Pantai for two terms from 2008 and later in Permatang Pauh, but she lost in the last general election (GE15) to her challenger, Penang Pas Youth Leader Muhammad Fawwaz Mohamad Jan.
