Axed Khairy headed down south as youth adviser
SHAH ALAM - In an interesting turn of events, former Rembau MP, Khairy Jamaluddin seems to have better luck down south.
In an instagram story posted today, Khairy reposted a post by Tunku Mahkota of Johor Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim which mentioned that he would be the future Johor Darul Ta'zim Football Club (JDTFC) CEO and Johor Youth advisor.
The current CEO of JDTFC is former Perth Glory coach Alistair Edwards.
Alistair has extensive experience as a football manager, coach, sports director, technical director, coach educator & sports administrator.
He became a household name in Singapore & Malaysia during the 1990's where he won the golden boot twice while representing Singapore as well as winning the League and Malaysia Cup double with Johor in 1991 & the League Championship with Sarawak in 1997.
The sudden announcement begs the question of whether Khairy will be replacing Alistair any time soon and what will his new role entail
In the instagram story, Khairy expressed his gratitude for the gracious offer.
“One door closes, others will open. Sustenance is on God’s hands,” he wrote.
Meanwhile on his official Facebook account Tunku Ismail posted a photo with the former Youth and Sports Minister with the caption "Experienced, proven, why not..."
Khairy was axed by Umno last Friday along with Umno Selangor chief, Tan Sri Noh Omar after the Umno supreme council meeting last Friday.
Meanwhile, 42 Umno members - including Sembrong MP who is also the former Vice President, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein and former Information Chief, Shahril Sufian Hamdan were suspended for six years.
