I will answer later, says Zahid
KUALA LUMPUR - Declining to comment on the recent suspension and sacking of several Umno leaders last night, its president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said he will answer to queries soon.
Zahid who is also the Deputy Prime Minister said he would provide clarification on the matter in an event later.
"Just wait, I will answer. I will answer in an event later," he said when met by reporters after the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) 2023 Carnival program at Dataran Merdeka on Saturday.
The program was officiated by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.
On Friday, the Umno supreme council decided to sack the former Rembau MP, Khairy Jamaluddin and former Umno Selangor chairman, Tan Sri Noh Omar from the party.
Apart from Khairy, Umno also suspended the membership of several other leaders, among them Sembrong MP who is also the former Vice President, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein and former Information Chief, Shahril Hamdan for six years.
