SHAH ALAM - Former Umno Youth Chief Khairy Jamaluddin has publicly acknowledge that he has been sacked from Umno.

He kept it short and sweet in a Twitter posting encapsulating his feelings towards news announced by the party’s secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan.

“Tonight I was sacked from the party I love, that I have given my utmost loyalty.

“Unbowed, unbent, unbroken,” he said.

Khairy has been consistently vocal about the party’s top leadership since 2018 when Barisan Nasional (BN), for the first time ever, lost in a General Election.

He went up against Umno President Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi soon after GE14 in the party election for the presidency post, which he lost coming in second place ahead of veteran Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah.

Khairy continued to voice out his dismay towards Zahid during the GE15 campaign trail as well as after BN’s shocking defeat.

The decision for his removal comes as no surprise following Khairy's most recent allegations that there were dirty tactics to ensure that Umno's two top positions were not contested at the recent general assembly.
