Number of Sabah flood victims continues to rise

KOTA KINABALU - The number of flood victims in Sabah continues to increase with a total of 6,843 people evacuated to temporary flood relief centres (PPS) as of 8am today.
Sabah State Disaster Management Committee Secretariat reported the number comprised of 2,412 head of households who were transferred to 29 PPS in five districts.
The number of evacuees in Paitan district increased to 720 people at nine PPS while Pitas had 1,201 people at five PPS.
Kota Marudu recorded the highest number of victims with 4,789 people at 12 PPS, Tawau with 109 people in a PPS and 24 people at two PPS in Telupid.
Sinar on Thursday reported the flood in Sabah is getting worse with 6,453 victims evacuated to PPS as of 4pm.
