Zahid denies 'twisting' Hadi's statement on vote buying

He said it was a written statement released by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Chief Tan Sri Azam Baki that the act of giving away cash handouts during GE15 as potential vote-buying.
"This statement is from MACC chief. Not in any way twisted words," he said.
He said this after Pas Ulama Council chief Datuk Ahmad Yahaya claimed Zahid has the intention to confuse the public.
Zahid cynically added that Umno did not have the money to donate. “Please continue to donate from the unclear and questionable source,” he added.
Zahid urged political parties to push for political funding bill which requires Constitutional amendment.
On Sept 24, 2022, the government expressed their confidence and commitment that the bill related to political contributions will be realised.
However, the first reading of the bill was not be tabled following the dissolution of Parliament in Oct.
