SHAH ALAM - Former Permatang Pauh MP Nurul Izzah Anwar says she had suffered a miscarriage recently.

The eldest child of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail uploaded an image of the family hugging after the incident.

In an Instagram posting: "Since Nov 19, 2022, this was the first time we hugged. There were so much that we went through together. After campaigning we were infected with Covid-19 for the second time with the news of our fourth child.

“While we were busy managing our new assignments, traveling back and forth to Penang and then to Putrajaya. We were shocked with the miscarriage.

"the little boot is gone,” said the 42 year old.

She said even though she is sad but has accepted it calmly.

She prayed for anyone going through the same fate as her to stay strong.

“We all face our share of losses, we can only offer a prayer, a hug and a reminder that life goes on,” she shared.

Izzah’s post garnered comments from her followers and several politicians who gave their condolences and left words of encouragement for the loss.
