PONTIAN - Umno Terengganu has been urged to file a report to Election Commission (EC) and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) on individuals giving out money during the 15th general election (GE15).

Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan said the report will enable further investigations by the authorities in addition to petition filed to annul the GE15 results for Kuala Terengganu, Kemaman and Marang parliamentary constituencies.

"I was informed by Umno Terengganu that there there were individuals who gave out RM150 to youths, RM300 to students and RM600 to people with disabilities (OKU) and pensioners during GE15.

"The distribution was made few days before votes were casted. If the money was given before votes were made and outside of campaign period then it is considered as government aid to the people," he said this after visiting Pontian Division MCA leader Datuk Ng Sea Bu at Pulai Sebatang, here, today.

This comes after Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang said giving out cash while campaigning does not violate the rules as it was "donation" to voters.
