Road bully: Police to summon PM's daughter, Proton Iriz’s driver
MUHAMMAD AFHAM RAMLISERDANG - The police will summon two drivers including Prime Minister's daughter Nurul Ilham Anwar who claims to be a victim of road bully.
Serdang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner A A Anbalagan said the incident went viral on Friday through a 14-second video recording on Ilham's Twitter account.
According to him, the footage showed a Proton Iriz being driven on the right lane at Kilometre 307 of the North-South Highway quite slowly and was said to have pressed the brakes several times which intimidated Ilham and made her feel in danger.
"Initial investigation also found that there were no accidents or injuries suffered by either side.
"Both drivers will be called to testify to assist the investigation," he said in a statement on Friday.
He said the case was investigated under Section 6(2) of LN 166/1959 for overtaking and preventing overtaking.
Anbalagan added public with information related to the incident could come forward to the Serdang District Police Headquarters Traffic Station (IPD) to assist in the investigation.
"People are also advised to always obey the rules and laws of the road when driving," he said.
Yesterday, Sinar reported that Ilham who is the fourth child of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Bandar Tun Razak MP Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail posted a video of the incident on her Twitter account.
Ilham said that the action was very dangerous in addition to her two-year-old being in the vehicle.
