SERDANG - Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) student Mohd Irfan Hakimi who went missing after performing Friday prayers last Jan 13 was safely found in Larkin, Johor Bahru bus station yesterday.

Serdang District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner A Anbalagan said the student's father had found his son at 5pm and he was brought home by his family to Sungai Besar, Sabak Bernam, Selangor.

"It was believed, Mohd Irfan Hakimi's excuse for disappearing was to calm his mind as he would be facing examinations soon, it was understood that he wanted to ride the bus from the station to return to Kuala Lumpur.

"A police report was made by his father at the Port Klang Police Station," Anbalagan said.

On Thursday, the media reported the student was located around Tampoi, Johor.

Anbalagan reportedly said the missing student was tracked at that state based on his debit card transaction.

From the CCTV footage, the student was seen accompanied by another individual believed to be his friend.

The police also managed to find the Yamaha LC135 motorcycle he abandoned at Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS), Bandar Tasik Selatan on Thursday.
