ICPKL advisor Dr Fauziah Mohd Hasan said their goal is to bring the world's attention to the suffering of Palestinian prisoners behind Israeli prison walls.
“The main objective of this conference is to open the world’s eyes to Palestinians suffering in the Israeli prisons and Israel’s restriction towards the people of Palestine such as access to their own lands, the Al-Aqsa Mosque and olive tree farming,” she said during a press conference here at the Institute of Islamic Understanding Malaysia (IKIM) here today.
She added that the conference's goal is to raise enough money to sustain at least 20 ex-prisoners families in Palestine for a year.
"We intend to provide at least USD500 each month to each family.
" We aim to promote the boycott, divestment and sanction of Israeli products." she stressed
Dr Fauziah explained that ICPKL 2023 aimed to invite international participants from the Asia Pacific region as it is a part of an annual conference held by various non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
“ICPKL is part of an annual conference held together with Asia Pacific Women's Coalition for AlQuds and Palestine (ApWCQP), which includes Malaysian Women’s Coalition for Al-Quds and Palestine (MWCQP), Koalisi Perempuan Indonesia Peduli Al-Aqsha (KPIPA) and Council for Humanitarian Networking of Sheikhul Islam, Thailand (CHNS).
ICPKL 2023 will be held from February 10 to February 12 at the Royale Chulan, Negeri Sembilan, with humanitarian figure and singer Faizal Tahir as a guest.
"Delegations and participants will be exposed to the truth of zionist cruelty and the false narrative that they have constructed against Palestinians.
"It is also our goal to raise awareness of the Palestinians' struggles and challenges so that people will continue to give their time, effort, empathy, and support for them until they are free." she said
